Vertical Search Engines Challenge Google

A nice article about vertical search engines and their role in the context of the major general search engines appears in the July 12th edition of the Economist. According to the article, “health is a field where consumers do seem prepared to seek out specialist sites that provide more relevant results.” We could not agree more. We believe that consumers are recognizing the specialized nature of health search and see value in the differentiating experience that vertical health search engines offer.
